A lecture on modern air defense of Ukraine was delivered to the lyceum students by a serviceman of the 3rd Operational Brigade “Spartan” of the National Guard of Ukraine, call sign “Joker.”
The event was held in observance of the Ukrainian Volunteer Day.
During the session, the serviceman presented the main air defense systems and complexes currently in service with the Ukrainian Defense Forces. He explained their purpose, operating principles, and role in protecting the country’s airspace from missile and aerial threats, highlighting practical experience in using these systems to repel enemy attacks.
A separate part of the lecture focused on the development of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and their significance in modern combat operations. The instructor discussed new approaches to UAV deployment, including reconnaissance, surveillance and detection of aerial targets. He also addressed the effectiveness of integrating unmanned technologies with other elements of the air defense system.
Lyceum students actively participated in the discussion, asking questions about the technical capabilities of modern air defense systems, military service conditions and prospects for UAV development. Such meetings help young people gain a deeper understanding of current security challenges, increase awareness of the country’s defense capabilities and motivate them to consciously consider serving their homeland.
