During the excursion, lyceum students learned about the operations of the unit and the specifics of firefighters’ duties.

The personnel of the unit explained the main areas of activity of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU), including responding to fires, conducting rescue operations, eliminating the consequences of accidents and natural disasters, and implementing civil protection measures. Students also learned that fire brigades operate under a strict internal structure with clear rules of subordination.
As part of the visit, students were shown firefighting and rescue equipment, vehicles and protective gear used during emergency response. The lyceum students had the opportunity to personally operate a fire hose, which delivers a powerful stream of water for extinguishing fires. They also visited the unit’s communication center, where emergency calls are received and the actions of response teams are coordinated.

Such educational visits help students gain a better understanding of the work of emergency services, learn about the modern capabilities of rescue units, and appreciate the importance of professions dedicated to protecting human life and public safety.
