Table Tennis Championship at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs: Winners Determined

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs and with the aim of forming the university’s team among students, a table tennis championship was held.

The event was opened by Acting Rector of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs Ihor Mahdalina, who addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. He emphasized the importance of developing the sports movement at the university and wished the athletes endurance, fair competition, and bright victories.

Cadets of the Faculties for Training Specialists for the Criminal Police Units and for Pre-Trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine, students of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law and Innovative Education, trainees of the Primary Professional Training Center “Police Academy,” and students of the Oleksandr Hostishchev Dnipro Lyceum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs took part in the competition. Each team was represented by four participants – two boys and two girls.

The matches were held in a tense and dynamic struggle, and the athletes demonstrated confident racket control, accurate serves, effective attacks, and endurance in decisive rallies. The performances were evaluated by a qualified jury headed by Acting Head of the Department of Special Physical Training, Police Captain Dmytro Anisimov.

According to the results of the games, the prize places were distributed as follows.

Boys:

1st place – Taras Tkachenko (Faculty for Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine);

2nd place – Leonid Khomichev (Primary Professional Training Center “Police Academy”);

3rd place – Ivan Kapustei (Primary Professional Training Center “Police Academy”).

Girls:

1st place – Viktoriia Tyazhkun (Faculty for Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine);

2nd place – Kseniia Rizvanova (Faculty for Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine);

3rd place – Anastasiia Sukhoruchenko (Oleksandr Hostishchev Dnipro Lyceum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs).

In the team standings, the team of the Faculty for Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine won first place. The team of the Oleksandr Hostishchev Dnipro Lyceum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs took second place, while the athletes of the Primary Professional Training Center “Police Academy” won third place. Certificates were awarded to the winners and prize-winners by Vice-Rector of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, Police Colonel Ihor Kovalyov.

Holding such competitions contributes to the popularization of table tennis among youth, the development of physical training of students, and the formation of a strong university team for further participation in tournaments.
