On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the university, the X International Scientific and Practical Conference “International and National Security: Theoretical and Applied Aspects” was held at DSUIA

The event was held with the aim of discussing current problems of ensuring international and national security, consolidating the experience and potential of scholars and practitioners from Ukraine and leading countries of the world in solving issues of national and international security.

The conference opened a cycle of events dedicated to the 60th anniversary of DSUIA.

The meeting took place in a mixed format; in total, more than 200 people participated in the event, including representatives of 14 international organizations.

Acting Rector of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs Ihor Mahdalina greeted the honored guests and conference participants. He emphasized that the theoretical and practical aspects of ensuring transnational security have acquired special relevance in the context of crisis processes in the modern world. Such threats require thorough analysis both from theoretical researchers and from practical specialists.

Participants of the conference were greeted by representatives of central authorities, in particular State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Inna Yashchuk, Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration – Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Police General of the Third Rank Oleksandr Hanzha.

Also participating were representatives of the National Police of Ukraine, local authorities, law enforcement agencies, rectors and scholars from universities of the MIA system, civilian universities, as well as international partners.

During the conference sessions, issues were discussed such as the protection of personal data in state registers under martial law; international cooperation and barriers to the exchange of intelligence data; public-private partnership as a mechanism for improving the quality of countering crime; the role of Ukraine’s representative in the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).

The dialectics of the concepts “international security” and “national security” were considered; ensuring human rights and freedoms at the pre-trial investigation stage; implementation of procedural interview in the practical activities and educational process of investigators: experience of Ireland and Ukraine; certain issues of participation of prisoners of war in criminal proceedings, etc.

Following the results of the conference, a resolution with recommendations for improving the regulatory framework in the field of ensuring national security of Ukraine will be prepared, as well as a collection of abstracts of reports.
