“Cybersecurity in the Context of Modern Challenges”: Elective Class with EUAM Experts

NEWS

At Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, an elective class was held with the participation of representatives of the Mobile Unit of the European Union Advisory Mission, dedicated to raising awareness in the field of cybersecurity.

District police officers from Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kherson and Khmelnytskyi oblasts took part in the event. The training became part of their special professional training programme aimed at improving work skills and raising qualifications.

The main focus of the elective was on strategies for reducing risks and countering current threats. The experts and participants examined the concept of the “human factor” as a key link in the information protection system, emphasizing that the vigilance of each employee is the first line of defense in cyberspace.

During the discussion, key attention was paid to issues of device and data protection, communication security, digital hygiene, work in social networks, contacts with media representatives and bloggers. In addition, the issue of the latest technological threats was raised, in particular the study of methods of artificial intelligence use by malicious actors, as well as algorithms of actions in case of suspicion of phishing attacks using artificial intelligence.

The police officers familiarized themselves with tools for prompt analysis of suspicious links, which will enable them to act more effectively in field conditions.

Thanks to the joint efforts of DSUIA and EUAM, Ukrainian law enforcement officers are strengthening their protection against digital attacks and becoming better prepared to protect citizens in the complex information landscape.
