NEWS

The first practical shooting championship among cadets of higher education institutions with specific training conditions under the management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, as well as higher military educational institutions of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine, took place in Kyiv Oblast.

The Department of Education, Science and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs created the necessary conditions for conducting individual and team practical shooting competitions among cadets. Impartial, objective and unbiased judging was provided by judges of the All-Ukrainian Federation of Practical and Precision Shooting.

State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Inna Yashchuk took part in the awards ceremony for the winners and prize-winners of the practical shooting championship among cadets of higher education institutions of the MIA system.

“In the context of modern challenges related to the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, practical shooting acquires special significance in higher education institutions of the MIA system. This sport reproduces the conditions of real use of firearms during performance of official duties and defense of the Motherland. These competitions are important in the system of professional training of police officers, national guardsmen and border guards, as they allow not only to increase the level of skill in practical shooting, but also contribute to improving professional skills, strengthening team spirit and preparing for performance of official tasks,” noted Inna Yashchuk.

Director of the Department of Education, Science and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Oleksandr Tarasenko addressed those present:

“Shooting requires maximum accuracy, endurance, concentration, quick decision-making and impeccable discipline. And it was precisely such purposeful, persistent, responsible and collected individuals who were demonstrated by the 36 cadets, including 8 girls, who participated in the practical shooting championship among higher education institutions of the MIA system. I am convinced that each of the athletes today received invaluable experience, tempered their character and took another step toward professional excellence.”

Participants performed two rifle exercises and four pistol exercises, demonstrating a high level of preparation, endurance and ability to act in conditions as close as possible to real ones.

During the event, words of gratitude were expressed to Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs and the sponsors of the event (M-TAC, Stvol, 9mm.zp.ua, Gerts) for the high level of organization of the championship; to the president and judges of the All-Ukrainian Federation of Practical and Precision Shooting for objectivity in judging.
