NEWS, Sport for military veterans

Andrii Shevchenko and Viacheslav Pryvalov became winners of the competition, showing the best results in their respective weight categories — up to 64 kg and up to 79 kg.

The three-day Championship of the National Guard of Ukraine in inclusive sambo is taking place over the weekend in Ivano-Frankivsk. The competition brought together servicemen, veterans, and athletes from different regions of Ukraine who demonstrate not only a high level of physical fitness but also strength of spirit, endurance, and true sporting character.

A convincing victory was already achieved by representatives of the veteran community of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs — instructor of the Department of Special Physical Training Andrii Shevchenko and veteran Viacheslav Pryvalov. The athletes’ performances were marked by confidence, technical skill, and well-thought-out match tactics, which allowed them to outperform their opponents and achieve the best results in their categories.

A significant factor in their success was the systematic training of the athletes within the university. DSUIA actively develops the area of adaptive sports: in particular, through joint training sessions in adaptive judo and other martial arts involving veterans, cadets, and lecturers. Such sessions not only improve physical skills but also contribute to the development of team spirit, mutual support, and psychological resilience.

The tournament in Ivano-Frankivsk became another important step in promoting adaptive sports and creating equal opportunities for all participants. We congratulate our winners and wish them new achievements on national sports arenas!
