The XXXVI Open Judo Tournament dedicated to the memory of athlete Ivan Pryshchepa has concluded at the “Olympic Reserves” sports complex in Dnipro. Lyceum student Alona Burdina won a silver medal at the competition.

The tournament is one of the oldest national events, traditionally bringing together participants of different age groups to compete for medals and cups in individual standings. This year, for the first time in history, girls competed on an equal level with boys: boys competed in 9 weight categories, while girls competed in 8 categories.
Representatives of the Dnipro Lyceum named after O. Hostishchev of the Ministry of Internal Affairs performed достойно on the tatami. Alona Burdina confidently conducted her bouts and secured second place in the up to 44 kg weight category, demonstrating technical skill, endurance, and strong will.
Denys Nechypurenko (up to 66 kg) and Mykola Kuznetsov (up to 73 kg) also took part in the tournament, putting up достойну competition to their opponents and gaining valuable experience at competitions of this level.
