NEWS, Sport for military veterans

At the two-day national competitions among veterans in Chernihiv, representatives of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs won a number of awards.

More than 400 participants from different regions joined the veteran community and tested their abilities at the national level. DSUIA was represented by military veterans Ivan Nazarenko and Dmytro Burhala, both of whom delivered strong performances and each won three prizes.

Dmytro Burhala took two first places — in rowing and the kettlebell snatch exercise — and also placed third in the aerobyke discipline. Ivan Nazarenko won the rowing event, after which he secured two bronze medals in table tennis and aerobyke.

The performances of DSUIA athletes became an example of strength of spirit, perseverance, and determination to win. The participants demonstrated not only physical fitness but also resilience of character, which is an important component of successful adaptation to civilian life.

The “Cup of Sercevir” is held annually by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine in cooperation with the NGO “VSU ‘Sercevir’” as part of the implementation of the Veteran Policy Strategy and the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Environment in Ukraine, developed at the initiative of First Lady Olena Zelenska.
