MIA Lyceum

The competition, organized to promote the development of local history research among youth, brought together talented students from all over Ukraine.

Sofiia Romanenko, a student of the Dnipro Lyceum of Security and National-Patriotic Education named after Oleksandr Hostishchev of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, took third place at the III All-Ukrainian local history competition “Oh where, people, is our glory, the glory of Ukraine!”.

The main objective of the competition is to search for and popularize little-known facts about prominent figures of the native region who made a significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian culture, science, public life, and state-building, inspired by the ideas of Taras Shevchenko. The competition was held online.

In her research essay titled “Anatolii Fomenko – a local historian and researcher of Shevchenko studies,” Sofiia Romanenko explored the life and work of one such figure, demonstrating deep knowledge of history, a high level of analytical skills, and a strong patriotic stance.

Such achievements of lyceum students demonstrate the effectiveness of the system of national-patriotic education at the lyceum, contribute to the formation of national awareness, deepen interest in the history of the native region, and foster a sense of pride in Ukraine’s spiritual heritage among young people.
