The event was organized by the Department of Special Physical Training of DSUIA.
At Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, veterans conducted a master class in petanque for students of the communal educational institution “Special School No. 12” of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council.
Students with visual impairments took part in the master class. Veterans Yevhen Ratkov, Ivan Zmiyevskyi, Oleksandr Hryshchuk, Serhii Shtym, Vitalii Krysan, as well as the Senior Lecturer of the Department of Special Physical Training Ihor Chobotko demonstrated the technique of playing petanque, told about the rules and features of this type of adaptive sport.
The students performed throws, practiced accuracy and developed team interaction. For better mastering of the skills, improvised competitions were held, during which each student played in a pair with a veteran-mentor.
Following the results of the event, all participants received certificates, and the educational institution received a set for playing petanque.
Such events contribute to the popularization of adaptive sports among children with special educational needs, strengthening the ties between veterans and the younger generation, forming an interest in a healthy lifestyle and instilling patriotic values in young people.
