The Dnipro Lyceum was represented by three students.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko met with students of security-oriented and national-patriotic education lyceums of the MIA on the occasion of the second anniversary of the creation of these institutions. During the meeting, the lyceum students visited the communication center of the 112 Service and the Situation Center of the MIA, and also communicated with the Head of the MIA about studies, self-development and future professional realization.
Two years ago, security-oriented and national-patriotic education lyceums were established in the departmental education system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. The initiator of their foundation was the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko.
“During one of the working meetings in 2023, we discussed with colleagues the issues of social protection and veteran policy, in particular the support of families of military personnel, police officers and rescuers. It was then that the idea of creating MIA lyceums arose. Already in a year, we managed to implement this project. I consider it one of the most important decisions for the MIA system and personally for myself,” Ihor Klymenko told the youth.
Currently, five MIA security-oriented lyceums operate in different regions of Ukraine — in Kyiv, Dnipro, Ivano-Frankivsk, Vinnytsia and Kryvyi Rih. They educate 937 children.
At the beginning of his meeting with the lyceum students, Ihor Klymenko spoke about the principle of operation and development of the 112 Service. The Minister personally conducted a tour of the communication center, spoke about the functions of this unit, new modern approaches to providing assistance to citizens during emergency situations, as well as the role of the 112 Service in the conditions of lack of heat and electricity last winter. According to the Minister of Internal Affairs, the 112 Service now consists of four communication centers in Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipro and Odesa. Operators receive emergency calls from all regions and direct them to the relevant services.
After that, the lyceum students, together with the Head of the MIA, visited the Situation Center, where they familiarized themselves with the specifics of its work and the leading technologies for monitoring, analysis and forecasting of the security situation that are being implemented in Ukraine. It is from here that the work of all emergency services is coordinated around the clock during emergency situations.
The youth, together with the Minister, discussed the key tasks that the department has defined for the further activities of security-oriented and national-patriotic education lyceums. The Minister also invited the lyceum students to express their own vision for improving learning and life in the lyceum.
“The MIA cares about you and your future. During two years of study in the lyceum, it is important for each of you to choose the vector of your life path. It is important that you strive for knowledge and have your own opinion. And our task is to provide you with quality education and prepare each of you as much as possible for admission to higher educational institutions. We strive for thousands of graduates of MIA security lyceums to build a successful future for Ukraine,” Ihor Klymenko emphasized.
According to the Minister, the MIA pays great attention to the professional training of the pedagogical staff of the lyceums, as well as the creation of comfortable conditions for learning, physical education, creative development and living in all five educational institutions.
During the communication, the lyceum students asked Ihor Klymenko questions about his choice of profession, studies, sports hobbies, professional career and how to overcome anxiety in responsible moments.
First-year student of the Dnipro MIA Lyceum Danylo Pryvalov highly appreciates the presence of specialized subjects in the lyceum:
“I like that in my lyceum I receive knowledge that I would hardly have acquired in a regular school. In particular, this is tactical medicine and other specialized disciplines, which, in my opinion, are very relevant and important, especially in the conditions of martial law.”
Among the advantages of their studies, the lyceum students also noted the support of teachers and educators, making new friends, acquiring skills of mutual support and teamwork, modern sports and household infrastructure of the institutions, clear daily planning, the opportunity to travel and gain new impressions from getting to know other countries. With the assistance of international partners, the lyceum students have already had the opportunity to travel to the USA, Azerbaijan and Latvia.
At the end of the meeting, the lyceum students presented Ihor Klymenko with a gift as a memento of this event — a protective painting.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine also thanked the lyceum students for the sincere and interesting communication and wished them success and mutual support.
