DSUIA expands the borders of cooperation

The representatives of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs, Valentyna Boniak, Head of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law and Viktoriia Rohalska, Associate Professor at the Department of Criminal Process took part in the International Conference “Effective Protection of Victims’ Rights: European Experience of Implementation Victims’ Rights Directive”, which took place on November 14, 2018 in Mastaiciai, Kaunas district, Lithuania.

The international conference was attended by 120 participants from various Lithuanian institutions: representatives of all courts of Lithuania, prosecutors, commissariats, district commissariats and members of non-governmental organizations. In addition, the conference was attended by 36 representatives from different countries of Europe.

Evaldas Pašilis, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Lithuania, opened the conference and greeted all the participants.

The experience and practice of European countries in the implementation of the European Union Directive on the protection of victims of crime was examined at the end. The issues of improving the protection of the rights of victims were also discussed. Viktoriia Rohalska presented her report “Equality of the rights of the victim and suspect in the criminal procedure legislation of Ukraine in the context of ensuring the right to a fair trial”.
