The purpose of the visit was meeting with the administration and students of the university to discuss NATO-Ukraine relations and bilateral co-operation with the region.
Issues that were discussed included the prospects of joint projects to ensure public safety and public order.
“Regarding the capacity-building program, it is worth mentioning the activity of the psychological rehabilitation program, which is currently taking place in the Dnipro at the regional level. Already more than 700 people have joined it” said the Head of NATO Delegation to Ukraine.
Alexander Vinnikov also presented the key principles of the Science for Peace and Security program.
“This program focuses on cutting-edge technology and also includes a humanitarian, social and gender perspective. These are areas that, quite possibly, will be of interest to you in cooperation with a scientific institution abroad, with which you already have certain results of cooperation, ” said Alexander Vinnikov.
Rector of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs Andrii Fomenko focused on the key prospects of cooperation in the future.
“I was personally interested in your research and experience in implementing gender policy. The prospect of participating in projects related to this field is quite significant. For us, the opportunity to join programs on ensuring the safety of the population and public order in the region is also urgent” Rector said.
The Head of the NATO Delegation to Ukraine also elaborated on the specific features of the program for the improvement of professional training in the military field.
During his visit to the Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs, Alexander Vinnikov also spoke with students of the University.
He presented the activities of the NATO Delegation to Ukraine. In particular, the visitor noted that NATO provides not only political, but practical support to Ukraine.
“Our main goal is to help Ukraine better secure its own security and to implement the necessary structural reforms,” said Alexander Vinnikov.
Asked by the attendees of the meeting, Alexander provided a contentious response and noted the extraordinary activity of the audience.
