492 cadets of the first year of study of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs have taken the Oath of the National Police Officer of Ukraine. The festive event has been held in two stages with complete following sanitary-and-epidemic prevention norms.
Andrii Fomenko, DSUIA Rector, police colonel, opened the ceremony. He congratulated cadets with the start of a new period in their lives.
“Taking Oath means allegiance to the Ukrainian people. It is taken for the entire life as an evidence of conscious choice of the profession, solemn promise to faithfully serve the people of our independent state. Be fair, trustworthy and disciplined professionals and protect the Law, rights and interests of Ukrainians on the constant basis. I believe that even in hard conditions you will always remain faithful to the Oath”, Andrii Fomenko said.
The moment expected by all first year cadets from the very first minutes of their stay at DSUIA – taking the Oath of the National Police Officer of Ukraine – has finally come.
Cadets read the Oath in loud having bound their lives with service in the name of prosperity of the Ukrainian people forever.
Besides, future police officers sang the National Anthem of Ukraine to the accompaniment of DSUIA wind orchestra.
In the frames of the event all present persons honored the memory of deceased law enforcement officers with the minute of silence and laid flowers to the Memorial of deceased law enforcement officers.
DSUIA Rector also awarded police officers, who reached high indices in their professional activity, became an example of fidelity to the police officer Oath and perfectly performed their service duties, with “20 Years of Conscientious Service” and “Service Veteran” medals.
Moreover, Kyrylo Nedria, Head of Humanitarian Disciplines and Police Activity Psychology Department, was awarded with breast badge “For Courage in Service”.
At the end of the event DSUIA cadets delivered several festive performances.
First year cadets shared their impressions.
“I felt pleasant excitement, because I’ve made a step at a new stage of my life. I understand that I’m not just a cadet, but a police member. Today we have obtained police shields, and thus, we received one more stimulus to serve faithfully and honestly”, Yana Morozova, cadet of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Strategic Investigation Units, told us.
Artur Shved, cadet of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Strategic Investigation Units, shared his emotions as well:
“One month has evaporated. Encampment has just finished recently, and the expected day came. Within this month we have managed to unite and become one team. Today my emotions overfill me, because we have become police officers”.
