Mariia Pianychuk shared her impressions on the training:
“This summer I was lucky to get the chance to participate in an international conference hosted by the University of Norway. The impressions from this project are simply incredible. The topic of our meetings was hate crimes. It was very interesting to receive information from real police officers in Norway and to learn something new for myself. Also, probably the most interesting thing in this project was the live communication with representatives of countries around the world. It was really unforgettable. And I am grateful that I got this opportunity.”
Illia Hrechyshkin told about his experience as follows:
“This summer, I became part of an international event among police universities around the world. I can say with confidence that it was an unforgettable experience. The organizers very professionally organized all the classes, which allowed learning something new and relaxing at the same time. One of the most important factors was the opportunity to communicate freely with foreign colleagues, using previously acquired English language skills. Summing up the above, I want to say that in my opinion, we have worthily represented our country in the context of hate crimes and gained enough new knowledge to use them in practice. I advise everyone to join such events if possible, because it is very useful and interesting!”
Upon the completion of the training participants obtained certificates of attendance indicating knowledge and competences gained during the educational process. Parcels from Norway with merchandise and local chocolate became an unexpected surprise. Moreover, Suzanne Bancel, an organizer of this large-scale event, initiated an e-meeting pizza evening for cadets from police HEIs of participating countries, which added pleasant and positive impressions and created friendly atmosphere even at a distance.
DSUIA cadets, who have undergone these educational courses, encourage all active and motivated applicants for higher education not to be afraid of challenges and participate in international educational initiatives of foreign HEIs.
