The training cycle under “Public Order Basic Trainings According to the Best European Practices of Ensuring Public Safety and Order during Peaceful Assemblies and Other Mass Events for Special Police Units” program has officially finished on the basis of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs.
20 police officers from special forces selected to become trainers have obtained certificates on successful completion of trainings and opportunity to teach their colleagues the peculiarities of providing public order under a new format.
Members of the specialized team of trainers Jurgen Mausbacher, Maximilian Heesing, Maria Elisabeth de Jong and Jurriaan Van Somersen participated in the awarding the police officers.
Jurgen Mausbacher summed up the results of the project. In particular, he expressed his gratitude to Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs staff for their assistance in organizing the trainings.
“By now, you are all have completed the training successfully and are intended to apply obtained knowledge in practice. We would not have achieved such results without DSUIA’s support”, speaker emphasized.
Andrii Fomenko, Rector of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs, police colonel, greeted the project participants upon the successful completion of their studies.
According to DSUIA Rector, the skills police officers obtained during the course would be definitely of use in their entire practical activity.
“When a specialist masters new methods and formats of the professional activity, he or she develops himself/herself. I am confident that you have already reached high professional level and have not only obtained new precious knowledge, but also exchanged with experience. On the whole, we are doing an important thing building future of the National Police”, Andrii Fomenko highlighted.
Handing over the certificates was a part of the event.
It shall be mentioned that the cycle of trainings in providing public order based on the Scandinavian model has been conducted on the DSUIA basis for the first time. Within several months, police officers from special subdivisions were studying key aspects of providing public security, crowd psychology and its management, dialogue police peculiarities, public order concept, etc.
UNOPS and EUAM representatives were the members of the specialized team of trainers.
Upon the completion of the first training stage, police officers from specialized units had been selected for further stage – training for trainers. All of them have obtained certificates and will be able to share their experience with colleagues at territorial subdivisions.
