The Ukrainian Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Championship among youth and adults was held in Dnipro. The event was attended by almost one and a half hundred participants from 18 regions.
Among the guests of the event were also representatives of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, members of sports communities and militaries, etc.
The cadets of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs were in the youth team of the Dnipropetrovsk region. Maria Pravda won the second place in the category up to 56.7 kg, Oleksandr Drach took the third place in the category up to 52.9 kg, and Shakerem Gasimov took the third place in the category up to 120 kg. Thanks to the efforts of the athletes of DSUIA, the regional youth team managed to win second place. A gold medal was awarded to representatives of the youth of the Kyiv region. Athletes from Vinnytsia won the bronze medal.
Currently, the possibility of the national team of the Dnipropetrovsk region participating in the world championship is being considered.
For national athletes, this championship became a qualifying stage for participation in the European and world championships, which will take place in the second half of 2024.
