Students continue to familiarize themselves with significant Ukrainian films. This time, the trainees chose a movie based on the eponymous story by Ivan Franko.

“Zakhar Berkut” was created by the Ukrainian director of Crimean Tatar origin, Akhtem Seitablaiev, in partnership with his American colleague, John Wynn. The plot revolves around the struggle of an ancient Carpathian community against the brutal invasion of the Mongol horde.

According to the cadets, the film showcases inspiring examples of leadership and heroism. It contains many war scenes that are interesting to analyze from the perspective of tactics and strategy. Additionally, the movie offers a unique interpretation of the classic Ukrainian literature, contributes to the national-patriotic upbringing of youth, and helps in shaping national identity.
