Cadets of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs attended a screening of the film “Battle for Kyiv,” which is dedicated to one of the key confrontations during the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The students watched real video footage taken from February 24, 2022, until the day of the de-occupation of the Kyiv region. They learned about the strategically important battle for Moschun, where Ukrainian soldiers held back elite units of Russian airborne troops for nearly two weeks. They also heard comments from the then-commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, who shared personal memories of the defense of the capital.
Future law enforcement officers note that the film documents the living history of the nation, which is being written right now. Watching the film once again reminded them of the courage and dedication of Ukrainian soldiers who, at the cost of their own lives, defended the sovereignty and independence of the country.
