Cultural Weekends of DSUIA Cadets

NEWS

Cadets of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs visited city exhibitions of contemporary art and the museum of Vadym Sidur’s creativity.

Among the exhibitions they visited were “Watercolor Moods” by Tetiana Dzekunova, “Modern, Creative, Unbroken Ukrainian Woman” by Svitlana Volkova, and “Unified Ukraine” by Mariana Maslovska.

Tetiana Dzekunova’s solo exhibition featured 68 works, including watercolor landscapes, portraits, and images created by the artist over the past three years. According to the cadets, they convey the anxiety and turbulence of human life, capture the states of nature, and affirm its beauty and grandeur.

Svitlana Volkova’s photo project is dedicated to 12 heroines whose personalities are revealed through individual photo portraits. According to the artist’s idea, the photos combine the spiritual qualities of women with the diversity of their activities, emphasizing the multifaceted nature of each Ukrainian woman. Cadets note that the works impress with their uniqueness and refer to the spiritual identity of our people.

The idea for Mariana Maslovska’s exhibition originated in the city of Bakhmut, where the artist participated in the “Bakhmut street art camp” project. She created 26 paintings that tell about the heraldic colors of each region of Ukraine. All works are united by Petrykivka painting.

“The main goal of the exhibition is to show unity. Due to the war, a huge number of people were forced to leave their homes and cities. Through her paintings, the artist tried to bring them back home for a moment, and she succeeded,” comment the future law enforcement officers.

Cadets also visited the museum of Vadym Sidur, a sculptor, artist, and poet of the 20th century from Dnipro. The artist was well-known worldwide: monuments of his authorship are installed in the squares of Europe and America, exhibitions of his works were held in many cities abroad. Vadym Sidur’s legacy is recognized as a national treasure of the country.

Cadets familiarized themselves with replicas of Sidur’s works created by young Ukrainian sculptors and engravers. They also saw unique photos of the artist provided by his biographer, Karl Aymermacher.

Exploring the cultural space expands the horizons of the cadets and contributes to the comprehensive development of the personalities of future employees of the National Police of Ukraine.
