The championship of the Departmental Sports Society “Dynamo” in hand-to-hand combat according to the complex competition program “Dinamiada-2024” concluded on March 29th. Among the winners were cadets from the Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA).
Representatives from different teams competed in various weight categories, ranging from lightweight (60 kg) to super heavyweight (90+ kg). The athletes were tasked with demonstrating precision and skill in executing hand-to-hand combat techniques, including defense against weapon strikes, escapes from holds, and more. The individual-team championship consisted of two rounds.
As a result of the tournament, cadets Alexander Drach (2nd place) and Andriy Nechitailo (3rd place) secured prize-winning positions in the 60 kg category. Another bronze medal went to cadet Dmytro Mamchenko (weight category 80 kg).
In the overall team standings, DSUIA’s team finished third in demonstrating technique. In the second round of the competition (controlled contact), the university team secured the 4th place.
