NEWS

Cadets of the Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs attended a workshop on the topic “Features of Arresting Individuals for Committing War Crimes in Conditions of Martial Law.”

The organizers of the session were Professor Victoria Rogalska from the Department of Criminal Procedure and Strategic Investigations and Lecturer Alexander Kryvopusk from the Department of Criminalistics and Pre-medical Assistance. The educational process involved a practical practitioner – an inspector from the Human Rights Compliance Sector of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Dnipropetrovsk Region, Oleksiy Sheludchenko.

During the workshop, future investigators deepened their knowledge regarding the grounds, conditions, and procedural aspects of arresting individuals suspected of committing war crimes. On the training ground, they practiced the algorithms for conducting arrests and conducting searches of individuals, as well as drafting relevant procedural documents. The invited practitioner familiarized them with the “Custody Records” information and communication system, its tasks, and purposes.

As a result of the session, the most active group of cadets received a gift – methodological recommendations for the application of the provisions of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms in the context of detention by an authorized official in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
