NEWS

The exam took place at the Territorial Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (Dnipro). Also present at the event were DSUIA’s First Vice-Rector Igor MAGDALINА and the Director of the Regional Service Center of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia Oblasts, Volodymyr STEPANOV.

The stories of two Alexanders are nearly identical: both voluntarily joined the Armed Forces at the beginning of military aggression. Both students of the Driving School, after injuries and amputations, move around in wheelchairs, undergoing prosthetic procedures.

The guys decided to get driver’s licenses after seeing information about the Driving School on the university’s website and social media because they are convinced: a driver’s license is an essential tool that helps them and other soldiers adapt to new conditions, find employment, and adjust to life, allowing for free movement.

Driving adapted vehicles with manual controls of categories B and C1 is the main direction that the Driving School based at the Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs is working on. At the same time, the university offers comprehensive support and rehabilitation for military veterans as well as civilians with musculoskeletal disorders: sports rehabilitation and leisure, obtaining higher education, employment, participation in events within the Titans UA project, and more.

Military veterans will continue their training at the Driving School for People with Disabilities with the goal of obtaining a driver’s license of category “C1”. Mastering two categories and having two licenses will provide greater opportunities for further employment.
