An interactive lecture featuring lawyer and trainer Irina Morgun will take place at Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs on April 23, 2024, at 14:00.
The event is organized by third-year cadet Katerina Grybchenko, who graduated from the V Summer School “JurFem” for female law students in 2023. The curriculum of the Summer School focused on combating gender discrimination and gender-based violence, with one of its goals being the implementation of graduates’ own project ideas in their higher education institutions.
The topic of sexual violence is quite sensitive, and victims, when turning to law enforcement agencies, should feel confident in specialists. However, there are cases where victims experience victim-blaming.
Therefore, the speaker will discuss approaches aimed at victims of this crime, the specifics of documenting and investigating sexual violence as a form of gender-based violence, as well as the peculiarities of responsibility and evidence in these cases.
Representatives of the university’s criminal procedure and strategic investigation department will participate in the event, along with the assistant to the rector on gender issues, Larisa Nalyvayko.
