Expert Consultation Event at DSUIA “Assistance for Internally Displaced Persons’ Living. Changing Approaches to Providing Aid”

The event was organized and held at the Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs in collaboration with the Charitable Foundation “Stabilization Support Services”.

The opening remarks regarding legislative changes were delivered to the participants by the moderator – assistant to the university’s rector on gender issues, Doctor of Law, Professor Larisa NALYVAYKO. The speakers of the event were: Alina STRILETS – regional social specialist of the Dnipropetrovsk region Charitable Organization “Charitable Foundation” “Stabilization Support Services”, and Olena DEMYANENKO – regional lawyer of the Dnipropetrovsk region Charitable Organization “Charitable Foundation” “Stabilization Support Services”.

The main purpose of the event was to address issues related to providing assistance to internally displaced persons, including specifying the categories of individuals eligible for continued assistance payments and discussing relevant practical cases. The speakers emphasized the importance of a roadmap for internally displaced persons who have moved to the Dniprovsk territorial community and provided information on the procedures for accessing and receiving public services for internally displaced persons. The practical event concluded with expert consultations for university students and academic staff who are internally displaced persons.

Representatives of DSUIA took part in offline discussions of problematic issues, including: Senior Research Fellow at the Educational and Research Laboratory for Preventive Activities Issues, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor, Police Major Irina DROK; Senior Research Fellow at the Educational and Research Laboratory for Issues of Legal Status of Internally Displaced Persons and Gender Equality Provision, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor Tsagik OGANISYAN; Deputy Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Law and Innovative Education, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor Liliya MEZHEVSKA, and academic staff of the university.
