DSUIA chess players competed in the city’s interuniversity rapid chess championship.

The personal championship of the city was organized by the Dnipro Chess Federation and the Sports Department of the Department of Humanitarian Policy.

Students, postgraduates, and university staff participated in the third round, with a total of up to 50 athletes. Representing Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs were: Deputy Director of the Institute of Law and Innovative Education for Educational and Methodological Work, Maxim Pochtovyi; Head of the Department of Physical Education and Tactical-Special Training, Irina Skrypchenko; Senior Lecturer of the Department of Special Physical Training, Mykola Pozhydaiev; Lecturer of the Department of Special Physical Training, Dmytro Anisimov; as well as student of the Institute of Law and Innovative Education, Maria Konovalova.

The championship consisted of 7 rounds using the Swiss tournament system: each game lasted for 10 minutes with an additional 5 seconds per move starting from the first move. The participants’ achievements were evaluated by a professional jury led by the chief referee, Honored Coach of Ukraine, Yevhen Chesnokov.

Maxim Pochtovyi took third place among university staff in the results of the competition. The winners were awarded diplomas and commemorative prizes from the Federation.
