The topic of discussion at the scientific club of the Department of Administrative Law, Process, and Administrative Activities of DSUIA was the current problems of response by the authorized units of the National Police to cases of domestic and gender-based violence.
The meeting was opened by associate professor of the department, Karina Pisotska, who emphasized that the issue of domestic violence in Ukraine has significantly escalated since the beginning of the full-scale aggression by the Russian Federation. According to statistics, a significant number of cases of domestic violence remain latent today.
Senior lecturer of the department, Maxim Shevyakov, spoke to the cadets about the importance of scientific self-development and orientation towards research topics that address the current problems of police activities in conditions of martial law. He also emphasized the importance of adhering to academic integrity and requirements during scientific research.
The participants presented their research achievements on the problems and prospects in the field of countering and preventing gender-based violence, as well as discrimination based on gender. Such research will contribute to enhancing the protection of the rights and interests of victims of domestic violence.
