The Department of Criminal Procedure and Strategic Investigations has initiated the practice of conducting binary educational sessions with international experts for master’s students as part of the academic discipline “Control and Supervision in Professional Activities.”
The lecturers discuss the application of European standards during prosecutorial oversight, judicial and departmental control in the investigation of criminal offenses, including war crimes. Another binary session was conducted by Professor Victoria Rogalska, head of the Department of Criminal Procedure and Strategic Investigations, with the Prosecutor of Lithuania, expert of the EUAM – Senior Advisor on Prosecution Gediminas Buchiunas.
During the event, the speaker highlighted the powers of investigators and prosecutors during international cooperation and emphasized to master’s students the benefits of investigating crimes by joint investigative teams.
The lecturers, through specific practical examples, examined the peculiarities of such joint procedural activities, which serve as an effective tool not only in the process of investigating the activities of criminal organizations and transnational organized crime but also in documenting international crimes.
