5th International Conference on Medical Education Informatics “MEI 2024”

The 5th International Conference on Medical Education Informatics “MEI 2024” was organized by Aristotle University of Thessaloniki jointly with the School of Health Sciences of the University of Nottingham (United Kingdom) and aimed to unite researchers and practitioners in such multidisciplinary fields as medical/health education, open educational technology and advanced technological learning, the use of artificial intelligence in medical education, modeling and new pedagogical approaches in health education for the presentation and discussion of research activities of educational institutions of different countries in this field.

The participants of the DSUIA project group presented to the participants of the SimS project thematic panel their own experience of implementing scenario-based learning for providing emergency aid (SimS) at the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs.

In their report, the lecturers of DSUIA noted that the use of standardized scenarios with simulation technologies for emergency aid to victims allows to increase the effectiveness of the educational process, and the implementation of scenarios developed using interactive labyrinth technologies on the OpenLabyrinths platform contributes to continuous learning.

Attention was focused on the fact that thanks to the SimS project, DSUIA received the equipment necessary for equipping an emergency aid training center for practical practicing of the developed scenario-labyrinths for emergency aid, which contributes to the improvement of the educational process at the university and in the future will contribute to the unification of training in providing first and emergency, including psychological, aid in all other higher education institutions with specific conditions of study that train police officers.

The Consul of Ukraine in Thessaloniki Yevhen Shkvyrа visited the solemn event, who emphasized the importance of international cooperation, which expands opportunities through the exchange of experience in joint projects, including “Simulation Medicine and Scenario-based Learning for Emergency Care” (SimS).
