MIA Lyceum

The Dnipro Lyceum of Security Orientation and National-Patriotic Education of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after Oleksandr Hostishchev has launched an intellectual competition.

The first stage of the International Language and Literature Competition for Pupils and Students named after Taras Shevchenko brought together participants from 10th-grade classes. Contestants were tasked with writing an essay reflecting on the theme “The Image of a Mother in the Poetic Works of Taras Shevchenko.”

Participants reflected on why the image of a mother held special significance for Shevchenko, how relevant the theme of mother-child relationships remains in modern society, and compared the portrayal of mothers in Shevchenko’s works with contemporary realities.

Winners of the first stage will advance to compete at the regional level. The most successful will have the opportunity to present their work at the third, national stage of the competition.
