To mark International Mother Language Day, the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs hosted a literary evening titled “Over a Cup of Coffee.”
The event was organized by the Department of Language Training and gathered professors, cadets, students, and pupils from the Dnipro Security and National-Patriotic Education Lyceum named after O. Hostishchev.
Head of the department, Doctor of Philology, Professor Iryna Tsarova, emphasized the importance of preserving and developing the native language while also encouraging the study of other languages.
During the gathering, participants recited their own poetry, inspired by various events and aspects of life. The atmosphere fostered creative exchange and a deeper appreciation for language, with some performances including songs in English.
A special guest, DSUIA Rector, Police Colonel Oleksandr Morgunov, attentively listened to the participants’ performances, encouraged their creativity, and proposed compiling the students’ and cadets’ literary works into a university anthology.
