The event, held in a “train-the-trainers” format, was titled “Procedure for Initial Response to Cybercrimes and Working with Electronic Evidence for Law Enforcement Officers” and took place in Kyiv.
The training was organized by the National Academy of Internal Affairs with the support of the CyberEast+ project, implemented by the OSCE.
The event was attended by the senior lecturer of the Department of Forensic Science and Pre-medical Training of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, Captain of Police Oleksandr Kryvopusk.
During the training, participants enhanced their skills in the initial response to cybercrimes, which are essential for law enforcement officers to effectively perform their duties. Special attention was given to searching for electronic evidence, conducting searches, confiscating computer equipment, and extracting digital data.
The primary focus was on developing the subject-specific knowledge of potential trainers through interactive learning and group work under the guidance of experienced professionals. Speakers at the event included international experts Heine Dries (Netherlands) and Michael Jamieson (United Kingdom).
The training also covered the specifics of detecting and collecting informational traces during investigative (search) actions.
At the end of the training, participants who successfully completed all tasks received corresponding certificates. The theoretical knowledge and practical skills gained will be implemented in the educational process at DSUIA during classes in the “Forensic Science” discipline.
