A session on “The Influence of Psychological Factors on Developing Observation and Behavioral Analysis Skills” and a discussion on “Psychological Methods for Maintaining Emotional Well-Being in Stressful Situations” were conducted by Anzhelika Moroz, a psychologist from the Psychological Support Department of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA).
Participants explored psychological factors affecting behavior, mastered observation techniques, learned about nonverbal communication, and received practical tips for enhancing observational skills.
Experts emphasize that a police officer’s effectiveness largely depends on their ability to observe and analyze behavior. These skills are fundamental for solving and preventing crimes, ensuring public safety, and responding promptly to potential threats. Psychological factors play a critical role in developing these abilities, which are essential to a police officer’s professional duties—from investigating crimes to maintaining public order.
The session also covered key aspects of stress resilience, self-regulation methods and techniques, rapid psychological assistance strategies, and a step-by-step guide for managing panic attacks. The ability to recognize signs of aggression or danger enables proactive risk mitigation. The outcomes of this session will help cadets apply both theoretical knowledge and practical recommendations, which are vital for effectively performing their duties in any circumstances. The acquired knowledge and practical skills in emotional regulation are also crucial for fulfilling professional responsibilities efficiently.
