Military Veteran Receives Driver’s License at DSUIA Driving School

NEWS

Another student of the Driving School for Persons with Disabilities at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs has successfully passed the exam and obtained a driver’s license.

Yevhenii, a military veteran from Kryvyi Rih, sustained a disability due to injuries suffered during Russia’s full-scale invasion.

Although he had never held a driver’s license before, he had always dreamed of learning to drive. Yevhenii learned about the opportunity to study at DSUIA’s Driving School from his fellow servicemen. He completed the theoretical course independently and mastered practical driving skills under the guidance of experienced instructors.

During the practical lessons, Yevhenii reinforced his knowledge and received valuable advice from specialists who understand all aspects of safe driving. Despite Dnipro’s heavy traffic, the support of the instructors helped him gain confidence behind the wheel.

Yevhenii received his driver’s license from Volodymyr Kovbasa, Assistant to the Rector of DSUIA.

The “Driving School for Persons with Disabilities” project, launched by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, is implemented within the framework of the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Environment, initiated by First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska under the “No Barriers” program. Its goal is to promote social adaptation and integration of people with disabilities, ensuring equal opportunities for acquiring driving skills.
