Outside of their academic activities, cadets of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs are actively exploring contemporary art.
Recently, the cadets attended the exhibition “Gravity of Changes” held at the Dnipro House of Arts. The exhibition is dedicated to topics of landscape design, urban space, and the harmonious interaction between humans and nature. Participants were presented with projects by renowned architects, designers, and environmentalists, as well as current trends in urban greening.
The cadets learned how urban development can be combined with natural landscapes, which ecological solutions are used in modern urban planning, and why green spaces play an essential role in creating a safe environment.
Cadets of the Faculty for the Training of Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine also visited the exhibition project “Alexandra Exter. Ukrainian Avant-Garde. Patchwork”, showcased at the Dnipro Art Museum.
The exhibition is dedicated to the work of world-famous Ukrainian avant-garde artist Alexandra Exter. The cadets viewed artworks created by artists from the Modern Quilt Guild Kyiv, crafted in the patchwork technique. According to the cadets, these pieces allowed them to reinterpret the artist’s legacy through the lens of modern textile art, highlighting her innovative approach and the relevance of her ideas in today’s context.
Additionally, the cadets visited the “Warm Optics” exhibition by young Dnipro artist Lyusya Ivanova, where they explored textile installations, abstract paintings, and photographs. The most striking part was a series of fabric panels, in which the artist conveyed emotional states through warm and soft visual imagery.
To conclude their cultural day, the cadets visited the Museum of the Modern Russo-Ukrainian War, where they saw firsthand the artifacts and consequences of the ongoing conflict in eastern Ukraine. The museum’s exhibit includes samples of destroyed military equipment, shell fragments, and other war artifacts, serving as reminders of the difficult struggle for Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity.
During the tour, cadets learned about the tragic pages of Ukrainian history and honored the memory of fallen heroes from the Dnipropetrovsk region. Such visits are a vital part of the patriotic and professional development of the new generation of future law enforcement officers.
