With the aim of strengthening the practical component of the educational process, 2nd- and 3rd-year cadets of the Faculty of Training for Pre-Trial Investigation Units of the National Police visited the Interregional Specialized Police Center for the Search for Missing Persons Under Special Circumstances at the Main Department of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Region.
The visit was conducted with the participation of lecturers from the Department of Criminal Procedure. Future investigators gained a practical understanding of the Center’s operations, its core functions, and mechanisms for interaction with the public in cases of missing persons.
The cadets had the opportunity to communicate with experienced investigators who handle this category of cases. Representatives of the Center outlined the police response algorithm following a report of a missing person, explained the key stages of criminal proceedings, and presented standard procedural documentation used in such investigations.
Special attention was paid to the Center’s technical resources. The cadets observed modern equipment used for data analysis, person identification, and coordination of search operations.
This visit became a significant element in the professional development of higher education seekers, enhancing their understanding of contemporary search methods and the specifics of investigating such sensitive and important cases.
