The events were conducted in the format of a police quest.
The evaluation commission included university lecturers and heads of practical units, in particular the First Deputy Head of the Main Department — Head of the Investigative Department of the Main Police Department in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Police Colonel Inna Vlasova; the Head of the 10th Department of the Strategic Investigations Department in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast of the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police of Ukraine, Police Lieutenant Colonel Iryna Tverdostup; the Head of the Department of Administrative Practice and Planning of the Preventive Activity Department of the Main Police Department in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Police Lieutenant Colonel Vladyslav Harichev and the Deputy Head of the Agent-Operational Department of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Main Police Department in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Police Lieutenant Colonel Artem Bohach.
The defense took place using elements of a police quest at the locations of the training grounds of DSUIA. In addition, the students solved test tasks to check the knowledge acquired during the internship.
The use of elements of a police quest allowed combining typical situations of practical activity with the acquired professional competencies and theoretical knowledge. The emphasis was placed on the analysis of practical situations that the cadets encountered during the internship and ways to solve them effectively in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine.
Particular attention during the defense was paid to practicing the actions of investigative and operational groups at crime scenes related to war crimes. Separately, the peculiarities of pretrial investigation of criminal offenses committed under martial law were considered.
The students demonstrated a number of practical skills: drawing up reports of crime scene examination after a rocket attack, examination of the body of the deceased, search for evidence in a premises with a weapon cache and during the examination of a vehicle.
They also organized and conducted searches in cases related to receiving unlawful benefits, performed tasks on conducting operational and search measures to establish a person involved in intentional murder and collaborative activities, carried out the detention of offenders and demonstrated surveillance measures.
Following the results of the defense of the internship, the commission members announced the results and provided recommendations for improving the practical training of the students.
