The veterans’ team of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system of Ukraine, “Veterans Basket Dnipro”, which includes representatives of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, became the bronze medalist of the national wheelchair basketball tournament.
The two-day competition concluded in the Lviv region, with 12 teams from different regions of Ukraine participating.
According to the results of the tournament, “Veterans Basket Dnipro” entered the top three strongest teams. In the match for third place, the athletes won a tense game against the team “Dnipro Chest” with a score of 11:9, securing the bronze medals.
The tournament winner was the team “Titany Lviv”, which defeated “Vilni Voiny CITY” (Odesa) in the final match with a score of 27:15.
Adaptive sports today play an important role in supporting war veterans, helping not only to restore physical fitness but also to return to active social life. Wheelchair basketball contributes to the development of endurance, coordination, teamwork, and psychological resilience, and also creates an environment of support and mutual understanding among participants.
