Gratitude from the Charitable Foundation “MAMA plus I” for supporting the charitable project “Room of Happiness” and personal contribution to the development of volunteer activities was received by the Head of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Work of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, Police Lieutenant Colonel Nataliia Karnaukh.
The award was presented during a charity evening, which brought together volunteers, philanthropists and partners of the foundation who are not indifferent to supporting children who found themselves in difficult life circumstances.
The project “Room of Happiness” is aimed at psycho-emotional support for children who are temporarily left without parental care and are in medical institutions. The charitable foundation equips special play spaces where children can feel in a safe environment, and volunteers conduct individual and group classes that help overcome the consequences of experienced traumas, reduce anxiety levels, develop communication skills and gradually restore trust in adults.
Students of higher education of DSUIA are also actively involved in the implementation of the project. Together with Nataliia Karnaukh, they regularly participate in volunteer events, visiting children and organizing creative, cognitive and developmental activities for them.
The received gratitude is recognition of the systematic work of the university community in the field of social responsibility and confirmation that even small good deeds are capable of changing children’s fates, giving support, care and faith in the future.
