Criminal analysis and OSINT: practical class for cadets of DSUIA

The cycle of practical classes continues, which are conducted by the employees of the Departments of Criminal Analysis of the Main Departments of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Luhansk regions.

Participation in the class was taken by cadets of the third year of the faculty of training specialists for units of criminal police of the National Police of Ukraine. The measures are conducted with the aim of familiarizing cadets with the use of criminal analysis for effective counteraction to criminal offenses, especially during the period of the martial law regime in Ukraine and the improvement of acquired theoretical knowledge.

The first class in this academic year on the topic “Criminal analysis: practicum on OSINT. The concept of criminal analysis, OSINT, cybersecurity, basic rules of working with information, geospatial OSINT” was conducted by the senior inspector of the department of analytical work of the department of criminal analysis of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk region, senior police lieutenant Yana Lazarieva.

The cadets independently performed tasks on searching for information in open sources. In the process of performing each stage of the task, they received explanations from the practical employee regarding the order of performing the task, methods of optimizing the search for certain data concerning persons and events, sources of information search.
