Professor of the department of criminal procedure of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, police major Viktoriia Rohalska, member of the national expert-training team on procedural interview, took part as a trainer and curator in the three-day program “Procedural Interview.Basic”.
The event took place on the basis of the National Academy of Internal Affairs. The participants of the training were investigators of the Main Investigative Directorate of the National Police and territorial units from 11 regions of Ukraine, as well as lecturers of the National Academy of Internal Affairs.
The program was initiated by the organization JustGroup and is aimed at the systemic implementation of the principles of procedural interview in the work of investigators who investigate war crimes. Procedural interview is a recognized standard of effective investigation and collection of information.
During the training, the participants worked on a common understanding of the principles of the approach, developed practical skills of conducting interviews and considered the possibilities of their application during the investigation of war crimes.
For three days, members of the national expert-training team on procedural interview worked with the group, among whom is Viktoriia Rohalska.
The program was developed and implemented by the development hub JustLearn of the organization JustGroup in partnership with the National Police of Ukraine, the National Academy of Internal Affairs and the Norwegian Center for Human Rights of the University of Oslo.
The participation of representatives of DSUIA in such programs contributes to the dissemination of modern approaches to investigation and the improvement of professional training of specialists of the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
