Students of the study group Bd-D8-26-1 of the Educational and Research Institute of Law and Innovative Education of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs took part in the event.
The event was opened by the director of the institute Volodymyr Shablystyi. He congratulated the first-year students on the professional holiday — the Day of the Lawyer and wished them success in acquiring professional knowledge.
The event was continued by the deputy director of the institute Iryna Dmytryshyn, who organized an intellectual game “Legal Duel Club” for the students. The participants united into two teams and demonstrated knowledge of legal disciplines, logic and the ability to apply legal norms in practice.
The game consisted of three competitions. During the first — “Verbal Fencing” — the participants answered blitz questions. In the second competition, the students carried out a legal analysis of the proposed situations, arguing their own positions. The final stage was the “Constitutional Detective”, within the framework of which the participants looked for mistakes in the texts from the academic disciplines “Theory of State and Law” and “Constitutional Law”.
Such a format of the event combined the familiarization of students with the practical environment of the legal profession and an intellectual competition aimed at deepening professional knowledge, developing legal thinking, attention and skills of reasoned defense of one’s position.
