The meeting with the deputy head of the Dnipropetrovsk District Administrative Court Andrii Korenev was organized by the Educational and Research Institute of Law and Innovative Education of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs.
Students of the first year of the specialty D8 “Law” and the specialty K9 “Law Enforcement Activity” took part in the event within the framework of studying the academic discipline “Legal Deontology”.
Attention was focused on the peculiarities of the professional activity of a judge, his role in the administration of justice and the importance of observing high standards of professional ethics. The applicants familiarized themselves with the practical aspects of the work of a judge, the peculiarities of professional communication of the participants of the court process, the requirements for the behavior of a judge and the significance of the principles of independence, impartiality, integrity and responsibility in professional activity.
Special attention during the communication was paid to legal deontology as an important component of the professional training of a future lawyer. After all, the professional competence of a lawyer provides for thorough knowledge of legislation and a formed system of professional values, understanding of ethical standards, a responsible attitude to professional duties, etc.
The practical format of the meeting gave the applicants the opportunity to ask questions and receive answers directly from the judge, discuss the peculiarities of the profession, the challenges of judicial activity and the requirements that modern society puts forward to representatives of the legal profession.
Such meetings are an important component of the practically oriented training of applicants of higher education, since they contribute to the combination of theoretical knowledge with practical experience and help future lawyers to better understand the content, responsibility and social significance of the chosen profession.
The conduct of the event on the occasion of the Day of the Lawyer also became an occasion for professional dialogue between representatives of the judicial system and future specialists, contributed to the establishment of the values of the legal profession and the formation of the proper professional culture of applicants of higher education
