Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs held an information and prevention event focused on compliance with traffic rules and the prevention of road traffic accidents during the autumn and winter months. The meeting was attended by the university’s management, officers, staff, and cadets.

The event was conducted by Police Captain Dmytro Kozar, an inspector from the Road Safety Department of the Patrol Police Directorate in Dnipropetrovsk Region, Patrol Police Department.
The main focus was on increasing road users’ sense of responsibility, observing speed limits, manoeuvring safely, and constantly monitoring road conditions.
The participants also discussed risks specific to the autumn and winter seasons, including reduced visibility, shorter daylight hours, slippery road surfaces, and longer braking distances. The speaker emphasized the importance of preparing vehicles in advance for seasonal changes, choosing a safe speed, and maintaining an appropriate following distance in line with weather conditions.
Participants were also reminded of the rules for crossing roads safely, common causes of road traffic accidents, and the legal consequences of traffic violations. Practical scenarios were used to discuss the challenges of driving in heavy urban traffic and adverse weather conditions.
Holding prevention events ahead of the winter season aims to promote a stronger road safety culture among university personnel and staff, reduce the risk of road traffic injuries, and encourage a responsible attitude towards the safety of all road users.
