As part of Cybersecurity Month, traditionally observed in October, a series of thematic sessions was organised for academic and teaching staff, cadets, and employees of the university’s structural units.

The sessions were led by Vladyslav Bratsiun and Serhii Novosilskyi, specialists from the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine’s regional administration in Dnipropetrovsk Region.

The main focus was on cyber hygiene, personal data protection, the safe use of digital services, and preventing modern cyber threats.

Participants examined the most common methods of cyberattacks, including phishing, malware, credential theft, and social engineering. Particular attention was paid to the rules for safely working with information systems, protecting official information, and handling personal data responsibly in the course of professional duties.

Special emphasis was placed on current cybersecurity challenges under martial law. It was noted that cyberspace remains one of the fronts in countering armed aggression, while government institutions, critical infrastructure facilities, and individual users may become targets of cyberattacks.

The lecture series aims to improve the digital literacy of the university community, foster a culture of responsible use of information resources, and strengthen practical data protection skills.
Such educational initiatives help enhance the university’s cyber resilience and reinforce awareness of each user’s personal responsibility for maintaining a secure information environment.
