The cadet and student teams, which competed in knowledge of the Ukrainian language, its grammatical norms, phraseology and folk art, took part in the event on the occasion of the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language. The meeting was organized by the department of language training of DSUIA.
The program of the quiz consisted of several competitions that required erudition, wit and the ability to quickly find correct answers from the participants. They started with the “Business Card”, during which the teams presented their names, slogans and participants.
Then intellectual competitions awaited the participants. Cadets of the faculty of training specialists for pre-trial investigation bodies of the National Police of Ukraine and students of the Educational and Research Institute of Law and Innovative Education of DSUIA answered questions on linguistics, explained the meaning of set expressions, solved language riddles and demonstrated knowledge of Ukrainian literature and culture.
The teams arranged words in alphabetical order, continued proverbs and checked knowledge of Ukrainian vocabulary. A separate challenge was prepared for the captains: within a limited time they had to translate the proposed words into Ukrainian.
According to the results of all competitions, the jury members summed up the results of the competition. At the end, the participants received sweet gifts.
Such events contribute to increasing the language literacy of applicants of higher education, popularizing the Ukrainian language and realizing its significance as an important component of national identity.
