The Department of Special Physical Training at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs continues to hold regular adaptive basketball training sessions for military veterans, at the initiative and with the full support of the university’s leadership.
Members of “Veterans’ Basket,” the first adaptive basketball team in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, established at DSUIA, are working to improve their sporting skills. During training sessions, the veterans practise teamwork, movement around the court, and passing accuracy.
The university systematically develops adaptive sports, creating conditions for the physical rehabilitation, psychological recovery, and social adaptation of Ukrainian defenders who have been injured as a result of Russia’s armed aggression.

Weekly training sessions help veterans maintain physical fitness, improve coordination, strengthen their mental resilience, and experience the support of like-minded people.
Initiatives of this kind contribute to the development of adaptive sports, veterans’ recovery, and their active social integration.
