Cadets of the first year of the faculty of training specialists for units of criminal police of the National Police of Ukraine of the specialization “criminal analysis” took part in the event.
The class was conducted by an employee of the defense sector of Ukraine, a developer of OSINT platforms Yehor Selin.
The cadets familiarized themselves with the main tasks, methods of searching for information in open sources, legal restrictions that employees of the National Police are obliged to observe during the implementation of OSINT procedures and the use of results. Attention was also paid to the personal cybersecurity of a police officer during such events.
A separate practical case on searching for information in open sources with the aim of identifying a person who may be involved in the commission of a criminal offense was considered.
The conduct of classes in such a format helps cadets to obtain theoretical knowledge and to form the necessary skills for effective work in the sphere of criminal analysis.
