DSUIA Center of IPA Ukrainian Section

 

On October 30, 2015, the XVI Conference of the National Executive Council of the Ukrainian Section of the International Police Association (IPA) took place in Kiev. The conference was attended by members of the National Executive Council, observers, and guests from all branches of the section.

At the conference, members decided to recognize and accept Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs as a member of the Ukrainian Section of the International Police Association.

The establishment of the Center aims to foster friendly partnership relationships among police officers from the countries that are collective members of the International Police Association, foster international cooperation in law enforcement activities, promote the development of cultural ties, enhance knowledge, and facilitate the exchange of professional experience. The center represents the interests of the permanent and changing staff of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs, who are members of the IPA, in the implementation of common goals and tasks in the professional, social, and cultural spheres.

Members of the Center can be individuals from among the permanent and temporary staff, freelancers, and retirees of the structural divisions of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs, as well as other individuals according to the categories: main (professional), associated national, associated foreign, special and “Honorary” membership.

As a member of the International Police Association, one has the privilege of participating in numerous activities and projects at the global, national, and local levels, including:

  • International hosting: sharing information between MPA members about going abroad, helping with settlement, going on excursions, and having fun. MPA houses are available in each participating country, so you can use them with your family. When travelling abroad, you can always reach out to the regional office of the IPA for assistance or drop by for a coffee to exchange expert advice.
  • Weeks of commonwealths, sports competitions, and anniversaries are held constantly for members of the association with special programs and prices.
  • The professional experience and knowledge exchange are facilitated by the events hosted by the sections of various nations (martial arts, weapons ownership, fight against terrorism, etc. The MPA School in Gimborn, Germany, is the main international center of the MPA for holding meetings, trainings, and advanced training courses.
  • Groups for interests that work at both a national and international level (weapons, badge collectors, fishermen, radio amateurs, golfers, etc.). There is an international youth program for the exchange of children among MPA member countries, which provides an opportunity for young people to gain new knowledge about the culture and traditions of other member countries of the association. Each year, international youth gatherings for children aged 16–17 are held in one of the IPA Section countries. Such events provide children with the opportunity to gain international contacts and practice English or another language, since children from more than 20 countries in the world participate in the meetings.

Remember that the IPA has always been an independent, non-profit entity. The proceeds from membership fees go towards the improvement and development of international relations and the exchange of knowledge between members.

The required documents for admission to the IPA are:

  • A photocopy of a passport of a Ukrainian citizen (pages 1, 2, 3, 11, or 12 with the last place of registration);
  • A photocopy of the foreign passport (page 1), if available;
  • A photocopy of the certificate of service (retirement) for law enforcement personnel and law enforcement agencies;
  • Certificate from the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the absence of a criminal record (for civilians);
  • Two colour photos measuring 3.5 × 4.5;
  • A hand-filled application form.
